Saturday off-road ride Charlbury Shipton-u-Wychwood
0 photos
Barbara and I rode this on Boxing Day last year. It was a great route but tough in the mud. It should be much better after all the recent dry weather but a gravel bike is needed as the minimum. We will be lunching in Shipton u Wychwood and if you arrive early you can get a coffee and cake from the Charlbury Community Centre where there a few all day parking spaces too. Or park on the road leading to the Community Centre making sure not to block drives and no parking on pavements.

A ride out west through pretty Cotswold villages. A few hills up Cumnor Hill and either side of lunch, otherwise fairly gentle.

Away day ride to Brightwalton and Hungerford
0 photos
It’s only a short ride to coffee from the car park, but as it’s a hilly ride it’s best to take the opportunity to try their delicious cakes. After that we take many pretty lanes over the Downs to reach Hungerford for lunch before returning to the Car park.

Sunday ride to Stanford in the Vale and Uffington
0 photos
It is time to do the Mince Pie ride in the summer again. Unfortunately this lovely ride was cancelled before Xmas due to the icy weather. So now is our opportunity to do it in the summer. The only hill is Dragon Hill and that can be avoided or walked or cycled as leisurely as you like. Hopefully the weather will be nice and we can picnic in Uffington again but, if not, I will try to book a local pub just before we go.

The route is a mixed road and off-road trail, so it is essential that you are riding on a gravel compatible bike. This is an absolute rule for this ride and no exceptions will apply. If in doubt consult a ride leader about whether your bike complies. The leaders will provide a…

We did this last year and it turned out to be very successful after a cancelled train made us all worried at the start. We start from Bicester Village train station. You can catch the train, ride to the start or drive and park in Bicester Village or Bicester Avenue car parks. Bicester Avenue closes at 4.30. Bicester Park and Ride has free parking up to 24hr (almost 3km ride from the rail station). We will start once the train due in at 9:29am arrives and everyone is ready. There are trains from Oxford Parkway station leaving at 8:48am or…
