Given the current Covid situation, we ask that anyone coming for lunch or coffee inside does a lateral flow test on the morning of the ride or the evening before. This will be in place until the situation improves. Thank you for your co-operation.

Ride or Event Navigation
Riders of 50 and older can register with CTC HQ and will receive a certificate, but younger riders are also welcome to join us. Note that you do not need to be a member of CTC to take part – but you do need to register with CTC HQ (see link below).
Riding at about 12mph, we expect to be at coffee around 11.30am, lunch about 2pm and home by 5pm when certificates (only for those over 50) will be handed out. The route has been carefully chosen to avoid main routes as much as possible and the terrain is gently undulating rather than hilly, with just a couple of short steeper climbs.
Lunch and coffee are both at Buckingham Garden Centre where our tables will be pre-booked and the restaurant manager has asked us to indicate menu choices a week or 2 before the event.
It is preferable for all riders to register online (see link below) so that we have your email address, details of emergency contact, dietary preferences and your age. Oxford City and Bicester are joining forces to organise this ride and we have limited the number of riders to 48. This is to ensure that we have small groups each led by an experienced leader and that there will be room for us at the coffee and lunch stop.
Ride report
Heavy rain with severe weather forecasts from the Met didn’t prevent 36 riders from turning up at Bicester Leisure Centre, ready for an easy 100km.
Four groups set off at 10 minutes intervals, with a faster group starting last. This was the only group with permission to overtake, but a series of punctures put paid to that. One group, however, did break the no overtaking rule, but only with permission and only to avoid a long queue at coffee.
Dripping wet at coffee, somewhat dryer at lunch and 100% dry by the time we got home.
The smiling faces say it all 🙂
