Annual Tweed Ride

Sunday, 26 December 2021 - 10:30am

Bring out your oldest bike and start visiting your tailor (or local charity shop) and don some tweed or similar (not compulsory – just come anyway!) It will be a short ride (max 10 miles) around the landmarks of Oxford for our own amusement and the bemusement of locals and tourists alike. The route will be decided on the day and will be dependent on weather and conditions (Tweed is a marvelous rain repellent) but we will end up in a hostelry for mulled wine, hot toddies or just a warm fire.

Ride report

We had a record turn out – 20! – for the 4th annual Tweed Ride. For the first time it wasn’t raining and we rode about Oxford for a few more of the lesser ridden roads (including the cobbles!) – creating great interest with tourists and sale shoppers – before repairing to the Turf Tavern for coffee and mulled wine.
