Away-day ride to Stratford
Sunday, 11 July 2021 - 10:30am
Ride or Event Navigation
Exploring the roads of south Warwickshire, taking in a section of disused railway line south from Stratford. Some hills but not too ‘bard’ (sorry!)
Arrive Chez Jon from 10am for coffee and cake.
The disused railway line is about 6k of compacted gravel – feels a bit like the Phoenix Trail.
Ride report
Lovely ride on Warwickshire lanes to Stratford upon Avon. Briefly making an appearance (!) at the Royal Shakespeare Company building before a nice lunch at railway carriage café near racecourse. Harder ride back into SE wind with all significant hills in the last 15 miles so not sure why ride leader went a bit faster…… back to Milton for restorative cuppas and vegetarian paella. Two riders then cycled home as well!
