Boxing Day Tweed Ride

Thursday, 26 December 2019 - 10:30am

Another Oxford Tweed Ride for the amusement and bemusement of locals and tourists alike. A short route (much like last year’s reprinted above) will be decided on the day depending on weather and conditions (Tweed is a marvellous rain repellent) but we will end up in a hostelry for mulled wine, hot toddies or lime and soda……..
Bring out your oldest bike and start visiting your tailor (or local charity shop) and don some tweed or similar – let the photos inspire you.

Ride report

This Boxing Day tradition may be building. Twelve last year became 16 riders this. Our ride was loury and smurry but at least not glincey. So, having exhausted Oxford’s main landmarks (yes including OUP HQ!), and taking lots of photos we headed for the pub for recuperative mulled wine and coffee, reflecting on a job well done.
