Chairman's AGM ride 69k
2 photos
Following a damp start, 14 of us eventually arrived at Eynsham Cricket Club to a warm welcome of hot coffee and copious cake generously provided by Steph and Daisy – thanks guys for all your help and cakes! After an informative and entertaining AGM just 8 people carried on in somewhat improved weather conditions to lunch in Witney at Huffkins, before a leisurely ride home in the afternoon.

AGM April 2022 by Zoom
2 photos
Unfortunately the AGM in March had to be postponed and was rearranged by zoom for 26 April. The March ride still went ahead with 6 of us setting off from Broad Street. We called in to see John B on the way to see if he had heard the AGM was off, he had, but it was nice to see him anyway. Then we called round to the Cricket club to see if anyone was there waiting for it to open but we didn’t see anyone. Then we made our way to the café I had used a few times as a takeaway during lockdown in the square in Eynsham. After that Julian and I returned to Oxford and James led the remainder of the ride to Witney and around.

AGM 7 March 2021

We held the 2021 AGM on zoom on 7th March, from 11am to 12.15pm. We opened the link at 10.30am for participants to ‘mingle’ and catch up after a long time of not seeing each other and riding together. Twenty five participants attended the online event, including Ellen Lee from ISIS who presented their annual report, and we were grateful to have Robin Tucker, recently elected to Cycling UK board, and Tom Page, Volunteer Groups Engagement Officer at Cycle UK, join us. Please see the annual reports of the officers. We also enjoyed a slide show about Audax rides, presented…

AGM 5 November 2017 11am, ride from Broad Street 9:30am

We once again (thanks to David Green’s cricketing contacts) enjoyed the hospitality of Eynsham Cricket Clubhouse, with real coffee by barista brother Richard Green, served with a variety of biscuits and homemade cakes. Attendance was up 40% from last year (21) with 3 apologies from regular members and we welcomed 2 new members to our Committee: Sue Altman as Secretary and Anthony Cohen member without portfolio to provide additional help planning and leading. We lose Stephen Lee who has served CTC and Cycling UK for many years in various roles, including club Chairman and Secretary. We wish him well and many more years of happy cycling and camping.

Annual General Meeting Eynsham Cricket Club
2 photos
We had a good attendance in a new and what turned out to be an ideal meeting venue. As we were planning to continue the ride after the AGM, we decided not to open the bar on this occasion. Cakes and coffee (proper coffee with steamed frothed milk or a long black according to your taste) all supplied by local volunteers.
We welcomed our CTC Councillor, Graham Smith, to the meeting and heard reports on a variety of cycling activities over the past year. The Committee was pleased to report excellent progress. Details will appear in the minutes which will be available on this website in due course (under the About tab). But to give you a flavour now:
All CTC clubs (we are 1 of 107) receive a monthly list of the members in their area.
- Since April 2013, the number of members on the list from CTC Head Office has grown from 905 to 942, that is, an increase of 4%.
- During the same period, the number of people visiting our website to sign up to our mailing list has grown from 147 to 253, that is, an increase of 72%. Our 72%, against a national background of just 4%.
- Of our 10 most regular riders, 5 are women (the national trend is less than one third).
It’s fair to say that we have bucked more than one trend. Our thanks must go to all ride with us and, of course, to those who attended and helped organise the meeting.

The draft agenda for our AGM may be downloaded here (draft minutes post meeting). A reminder that if you wish to propose any motions for discussion, you should email our secretary with the details: secretary@ctcoxfordcity.org.uk. At the meeting, our Committee would welcome nominations for new members to help lead rides and organise events. Although Committee members do keep in touch via email and phone, there are usually only 3 formal meetings during the year, so please don’t be put off…
