Festive ride to White Horse Hill (no short option)

Sunday, 8 December 2013 - 9:00am

NOTE 9.00am start. This is a festive ride to White Horse Hill in aid of the Whizz Kidz mobility charity

We invite you to join CTC Wantage’s annual charity Mince Pie Ride. We will arrive for minced pies and mulled wine at around 11am where we will meet 100-150 riders from a variety of cycling clubs. White Horse Hill is tough if you race up, but you can go steady or even get off and push (as many do). We will then head off home, stopping for lunch at The Bell Hotel, Faringdon.

As always at this time of year, lights will be needed.

Ride report

Last year just 3 from City joined the Wantage ride. This time there were 10 – a good number since there was no short ride option for this special event. As always, White Horse Hill is a good test. But best not to measure yourself against others, who may be lighter, stronger, fitter. Instead, compare it with how you felt last time. If you must race, let it be against yourself.
