Isle of Wight Plus weekend
Sunday, 16 June 2019 - 9:00am
Ride with GPS reports 1314m of ascent, so it will be quite a hilly day
As last year, we are planning an “IoW Plus” event, with the difference that we will be doing the Sunday IoW tour in an anti-clockwise compared with the 2018 route.
Here are the options. Email the leader to let him know your preference firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ferry leaves Lymington 9:15. Return from Yarmouth on the 5:20pm or 6:20pm ferry. Bike free, book at https://book.wightlink.co.uk/book/journey/traveldetails/
- Option1 – ride down on Friday and Saturday, overnight camp or b&b on Friday and Saturday
- Option 2 – drive down on Saturday morning for a led New Forest ride, b&b overnight and ride the IoW tour on Sunday
- Option 3 – drive down early on the Sunday morning in time to catch the 9:15 ferry for the IoW tour.
Camping (for option 1)
For the Friday and Monday nights:
The Woodbridge Inn campsite, North Newnton, Pewsey SN96JZ
No punctures, no crashes, but lots of tired legs. Some more tired than others – 2 riders chose a shortcut saving a few kilometres at the end of the ride. Our Garmins showed 1388m of ascent, rather more than we are used to. A memorable day.
