Mince pie ride to Uffington and Faringdon

Sunday, 8 December 2019 - 9:00am

Please book lunch before 6pm Friday and note 9am start

It’s our annual ride to White Horse Hill for mince pies and mulled wine. A long stretch to coffee with a climb over Boars Hill and a hard climb to the top of White Horse Hill before mulled wine and mince pies. Like many local clubs, we will join Cycling UK Wantage’s annual festive ride in support of the Whiz-Kidz charity. Make it more of an event by adding Antlers and /or tinsel to you or your bike.

Ride report

There were strong headwinds all the way to Uffington and our arrival was delayed by 2 punctures and a loose wheel. Another puncture delayed our departure for lunch and we then cycled in rain all the way to Faringdon. The ride leader’s Satnav played up from Uffington causing several false turns until all was resolved by turning it off and on again. A tailwind assisted our return.
