Saturday half-day ride to Charlbury

Saturday, 23 December 2023 - 9:30am

A one stop pre-Xmas Ride. Out to Charlbury Garden Centre for the 3 Cs (coffee, cake and chat) and back in time for any final Christmas preparations.

Ride report

We cycled on Saturday as I thought Xmas Eve would just be too close to Xmas for our club members to be free to ride. Ten of us met in Broad Street for a 32 miles coffee ride to Charlbury Garden centre and back. The Garden Centre, previously Hilltop more accurately described its location so we had a relatively hilly ride out and back. The weather was warm for December, though windy on the way out; a nice tailwind for our return. On our way back through Combe I spotted a good friend walking past an angel (see photo). My friend kindly offered me coffee which I declined as I thought coffee for 10 would be a bit of an imposition.

The map is an embedded link from Ride with GPS. You can zoom in to see the route in as much detail as you like. For example, you can zoom in (using the + sign) to see exactly where the start is.
