Sunday ride to Aston and Faringdon
Sunday, 4 October 2015 - 9:30am

Ride report
We started with clear skies in Oxford, but the mist gradually closed in as we rode west. We know that mist makes exhaust fumes slow to disperse, which is not usually too much of a problem for us on a Sunday. Unless. Unless the MG Club happens to be having a special outing and dozens of their classic cars happen to be taking the same route as us. With rasping breath and a metallic taste in our mouth, we were reminded that car engines of the 60s and 70s were many times more polluting than modern engines – even more so than VW diesels. Most of us hadn’t been up Faringdon Folly and the walk helped to digest a heavy lunch.
