Sunday ride to Aston and Faringdon

Sunday, 28 October 2018 - 9:30am

A joint ride led to coffee by Isis Cyclists along a flat route to Aston Pottery. A short stretch gets us to lunch in Faringdon with the excellent carvery at the Bell Hotel. In the afternoon we take a meander through the Vale of White Horse back to Oxford. With a hill just before lunch, and a hill just before you get home for tea, this is a ride designed for guilt-free eating.

Ride report

The first cold ride of the year, but sunny for most of the time. The final 30 kilometres were into a 12-14mph north-easterly, with gusts into the mid 20s. The downpour as we approached home disappeared as suddenly as it had appeared. There was much discussion of an impending 200k audax ride…
