Following the recent relaxation of restrictions, we will retain the booking system for rides, but will increase the maximum number to 24. This means that we may break into 2 groups at the start.

Sunday ride to Bampton (group 2)
Sunday, 9 May 2021 - 10:00am
Please do not book for this ride until the other group(s) is/are full
A flat ride out to Bampton for coffee, a hill in to Buckland before crossing south of A420 and back into Oxford down Cumnor Hill.
The map is an embedded link from Ride with GPS. You can zoom in to see the route in as much detail as you like. For example, you can zoom in (using the + sign) to see exactly where the start is. If you’d like to see the distances, go to the Ride with GPS website by clicking on “View Full Version” (top left of map).
Unusually, everyone was early, so we were able to set off 5 minutes early – possibly a club first! The extra 5 minutes was useful, as the road to Bampton seemed a bit longer than usual as we rode into the wind. The Yelford Road came as nice relief from the bigger roads up to that point. We managed to have brief outdoor conversations with the other groups as we overlapped with them at coffee. After coffee, the only notable climb of the day got us up to Buckland, soon after which we were able to cash in the morning’s head wind with a run of tail wind.
