Sunday ride to Benson and Sutton Courtenay
Sunday, 19 January 2014 - 9:30am
Ride or Event Navigation
Ride report
What made this a memorable ride? The perfect riding weather? Seeing George Orwell’s grave (with our own guide – Rebecca – explaining how he came to be buried in Sutton Courtenay)? Or was it the fact that we had record numbers out on a Sunday ride (19)? Our route to coffee didn’t go quite to plan (compare the Garmin Connect record with the map). This is entirely Garmin’s fault since the device failed to say “turn left” at Cuddesdon. After that, there’s nowhere to cross the Thames until Chiselhampton. No matter; this was Sunday riding at its best.
