Sunday ride to Bladon and Finstock

Ride report
Zero degrees overnight, gradually climbing to 2 degrees by lunchtime. But feeling colder in the brisk north-easterly wind. This is what we were promised and so I wondered how many would turn up. But this was a joint ISIS/CTC ride and Oxford women cyclists are a feisty bunch, not to be intimidated by cold air from the Arctic (see photo of smiling faces). As our coffee venue didn’t open until 11am, Ellen led us on an interesting route (see Garmin Connect map; you can zoom in) through unknown territory to make what is normally a 45 minute ride into one twice as long. Four of us continued on to lunch at the Plough in Finstock where the pub food is about as good as you will find anywhere. And home just after 3pm, no one now complaining about the cold (being followed by a 15mph cold Arctic blast is much more comfortable than riding into one).
