Ride report
Despite overnight temperatures as low as -3 degrees, roads had been dry for several days and we were fairly confident that ice wouldn’t be a problem. And apart from the bottom of the dip down into Denton, there wasn’t any. In the sunshine it actually felt quite warm. Twelve riders came to coffee at Benson Waterfront (too many for Ewelme Village Store) and 7 continued on for the full ride. Geoff (Mr Trike) was a new face (see photo). The Britwell Hill descent is always a little scary and Gavin claimed 75km on his speedometer. When my front wheel started to wobble, I remembered in time the rule about relaxing the arms and the wobble subsided almost immediately, but was disconcerting for the few seconds that it lasted. Not having ridden much over the past few weeks, most of us felt quite tired over the final kilometres, but good to get out again after so much inclement weather. The coldest Easter Sunday on record.
