Sunday ride to Frilford and Chilton

Ride report
Eighteen City riders for coffee plus a few from Isis meant that this was a large group and so more important than ever not to bunch up when cars needed to get past. Three more joined us en route. There was a fair bit of off-road including a route through Didcot which managed to keep to dedicated cycle track almost all the way. But you’ll want to avoid this footbridge – see photo – if you have a heavy tourer (once Foxhall road re-opens in January, this will no longer be a problem.) The long gradual climb by Lains Barn was new to many of us, as were the delightful lanes skirting the Berkshire downs, from East Lockinge to Chilton, just a few kilometres north of the Ridgeway.
