Sunday ride to coffee only
Sunday, 3 March 2019 - 9:30am
Ride or Event Navigation
A ride through the Vale of White Horse on the way to the Bell Hotel’s legendary carvery lunch. A loop north of the Thames to leads us back to Oxford. A mostly flat ride with hills before the coffee and lunch stops to whet the appetite.
Ride report
We had a bit of a head wind riding to coffee, but minimal rain. After the usual main road dash from Marcham, we arrived at coffee where we planned to linger awhile before heading back home in order to avoid the worst of the forecast 40+mph gusts. This time, the wind being in our favour, we had no trouble keeping up with the electric bike 🙂
As it happened, our lunch venue turned out to be closed (as we discovered later). So on this occasion, the poor weather saved the rider leader from some embarrassment!
