Sunday ride to Nettlebed (group 1)

Sunday, 2 May 2021 - 9:30am

Scenic route mostly along quiet back roads into the Chilterns with some hills between Watlington and Ewelme.

Ride report

We had a lovely, mostly sunny scenic ride along mostly quiet back roads into the Chilterns with some hills between Watlington and Ewelme. We stopped to catch our breath and enjoy the scenery at the top of the Watlington / Christmas Common climb and to have a chat with another group of cyclists including a comparison of ~£140 back light radar (see https://www.cyclingweekly.com/reviews/lights-reflectives/garmin-varia-rtl515-rear-light) versus a handlebar mirror!

The Cheese Shed was busy enough when we arrived but was well setup and we were quickly served delicious cheese toasties, tea and cake. Some of us even visited the shop for bread, cheese and honey! The ride back was along mostly quiet back roads and thanks to everyone who came along.
