Ride report
Since their inception last year, the joint Isis/CTC Sunday rides have proved very popular, and this past Sunday was no exception. Seventeen
cyclists enjoyed a “coffee-only” run to Newington Nurseries on a bright and sunny day. This particular route is a favourite of many regular Isis cyclists. We took the scenic route there (Horspath, Cuddesdon, Great Milton) and found the road connecting the Haseley villages to be particularly rewarding, with a large crop of flowering poppies. Having admired them for some time, after coffee we chose the fast route back to Oxford along the B480 and were back home in time for lunch. Total mileage was around 25 miles, taken at a touring pace to suit the abilities of the group. All of this ride is covered by OS Landranger sheet 164.
With thanks to Ann for this report.
