Sunday ride to Thame and Ewelme
Sunday, 5 October 2014 - 9:30am
Ride or Event Navigation
Ride report
Heavy rain on Saturday, gales and rain on Monday. Sunday? sunny all day. Hill Road from Lewknor to Cowleaze Wood car park includes a 1km track with 100 metres of climb. Just about managed on 23mm tyres. When we caught our breath at the top, our most senior member informed us that the last time the club attempted this climb was in 1978. So perhaps we’ll try it again in 2050. Meanwhile, best avoided on road bikes. The route from Christmas Common to Ewelme via Swyncombe is a cyclists’ delight.
