Ride report
The mixed weather forecast for the day didn’t deter 13 people from joining us for coffee in Thame, with 8 people continuing on to lunch. The sun came out as we cycled along the Phoenix Trail towards Princes Risborough. Our route to Chinnor included a short footpath, with a couple of stiles and a gate to test our upper body strength (see photos). Nothing wrong with footpaths – as long as you get off and push. We enjoyed a pleasant lunch at The Chequers in Watlington before we turned for home. As usual, we avoided some of the B480 after Chiselhampton to enjoy the views to the south and a final climb to Denton and Garsington. As we stopped to put on our waterproofs, we noted that the shower forecast for 4pm had arrived punctually, but by that time we were almost home.
