Sunday ride to Thrupp and Bucknell

Sunday, 27 September 2015 - 9:30am

Ride report

What to wear? Very hot in the sun, very cold in the shade and riding into the brisk north easterly wind. The answer is not too many layers, with a light wind stopper shell on top – the kind you can roll into a ball the size of an apple. We set off with 13 from City and 8 from Isis, following an interesting route to Thrupp which somehow managed to avoid 90% of main roads, in fact mainly streets and Sustrans cycle paths. At coffee, we met 5 more and then another 1 at lunch, bringing the total for the ride to a record breaking 27. Well, it was a lovely day once you had stopped for the third time to adjust your outfit and there was a feeling that this might be our last summery outing of the year. So best to make the most of it.
