Sunday ride to Uffington and Faringdon

Sunday, 6 December 2015 - 9:00am

Note earlier 9am start for this special ride

Many local clubs will join CTC Wantage’s annual festive ride in support of the Whiz-Kidz charity. As in previous years, we hope to bring a large group of our riders to the car park at the top of White Horse Hill (see photos), where we will enjoy mince pies and mulled wine – and all in a good cause.

Ride report

Earlier in the week it was touch and go whether the gales would subside in time for our annual visit to the top of White Horse Hill. In the event, the 50 mph gusts had been replaced by a constant 20 mph head wind, so by the time we reached the foot of the climb we felt as though we had already spent 2 hours on a 2% climb. The mulled wine was universally praised and second helpings were the order of the day. We were pleased to have added the support of our 10 riders to this good cause and glad of the tail wind for the journey home.
