Sunday ride to Uffington and Faringdon

Sunday, 11 December 2016 - 9:00am

Note early start to reach White Horse Hill in time for mince pies and mulled wine

Our annual ride to White Horse Hill for mince pies and mulled wine. Like us, many local clubs will join CTC Wantage’s annual festive ride in support of the Whiz-Kidz charity. This will be the fifth year we have attended and we hope to bring a large group of our riders to the car park at the top of White Horse Hill, where we will enjoy mince pies and mulled wine – and all in a good cause.

Ride report

It’s always good to revisit Dragon Hill, wondering how it will feel this time around. Arriving at the top, “not too bad” was the general consensus and then we were curious to find out how many cyclists we would find gathered in the car park a few hundred metres further on. Apparently, attendance at this event is best measured by the number of cups used. By the time we appeared, that number was already well over 100. Fine weather, a stiff climb, mulled wine, mince pies and the chance to support the Whizz Kidz charity made this a memorable ride.
