Sunday ride to Uffington and Faringdon
Sunday, 9 December 2018 - 9:00am
Ride or Event Navigation
Our annual ride to White Horse Hill for mince pies and mulled wine. Like many local clubs, we will join Cycling UK Wantage’s annual festive ride in support of the Whiz-Kidz charity. Last year’s event was cancelled because of bad weather, so this will be the sixth year we have attended and we hope to bring a large group of our riders to the car park at the top of White Horse Hill, where we will enjoy mince pies and mulled wine – and all in a good cause.
Ride report
As reward for this annual fitness test, we were promised a wonderful view from the top of White Horse Hill, but it turned out that most of the Vale was obscured by a large grey mass of cloud. Any disappointment was soon dispelled by the mince pies and mulled wine. It is always a pleasure to join dozens of other riders from so many local clubs in support of the Whiz-Kidz charity. Nicely rounded off by a helpful tailwind back to Oxford.
