Sunday away-day ride to Wantage and Hungerford
Sunday, 15 April 2018 - 9:30am
Ride or Event Navigation
A short ride to coffee where we can stock up on cake before a hilly and scenic ride to lunch at Hungerford. As a special treat for any cycling nerds, we pass through the village of Eddington. After 800m of ascent, we will enjoy the final descent of Blowing Stone Hill and back to the car park.
Ride report
Garmin said 950m of ascent. That’s plenty over just 73k and the final descent was welcomed by well exercised legs. The persistent drizzle and light rain did little to spoil the pleasure of our visit to this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but we lost some of it in the mist. So perhaps another visit when the skies are bluer?
