Sunday ride to Waterperry
Sunday, 27 January 2019 - 9:30am
Ride or Event Navigation
A modest January ride, led as far as coffee by Isis Cyclists, by which time the worst (best?) hill of the day will be behind us. Flat thereafter for most of the way, but ending with the hill into Garsington – to earn you a bit more cake when you get home.
Ride report
Usually, when Isis Cyclists join us on the last Sunday of the month, it is to lead an easy ride to coffee, while Oxford City cyclists prefer the longer, all-day ride. All change this Sunday: it was Isis’ turn to be the “hard core” riders, ignoring the forecast of gusts up to 43mph and opting for a long coffee ride Thame. Meanwhile, Oxford City decided on a Plan B, with a short ride to coffee and then home before the worst of the gusts. In the end, 3 from Isis and 11 from City ventured out. We also learnt more about sealing tubeless tyres, but that’s a story for another day.
