Sunday ride to Waterperry and Bledlow
Sunday, 29 April 2018 - 9:30am
Ride or Event Navigation
Isis (Rides for Women) will lead us to coffee via the climb to Elsfield. The Phoenix Trail takes us to a favourite pub in the Chilterns – the Lions of Bledlow. After a few hills and a very fast descent into Chinnor (15%+), we roll home to Oxford for the final 40k.
Ride report
Today – 7 degrees, feeling like 3 with a few spots of rain. Last Sunday – temperatures into the mid twenties under a flawless blue sky. No wonder we talk so much about the weather! The Phoenix Trail (Sustrans National Cycle Network 57) takes us quickly and conveniently into the Chilterns – it was actually one of our ex-members who helped open up this trail to cyclists and walkers in 2002 after the rail line closed in the 1990s.
