Sunday ride to Witney and Bampton
Sunday, 29 September 2013 - 9:30am

Ride report
The scene in Broad Street at 9.30am was unlike that on any other Sunday morning: a WW2 truck carrying a full load of troops, a crusader knight sitting aboard a replica of a High Middle Ages cart and a group of soldiers wearing uniform from the Crimean war. Not to be outdone, our coffee leader led us on a bewildering meander through the streets of Witney before we emerged miraculously at the entrance of Cogges farm. Lunch too was a success. Unlike last week when some of the meat had proved impossible to cut, let alone eat. No problems this time and we set off for home, with confidence in Oxfordshire’s pub food fully restored. And we had no complaints about the weather either.
