Sunday ride to Witney and Ramsden

Sunday, 1 October 2023 - 9:30am

Ride back from coffee: email the coffee leader if you'd like to see the route back.

To coffee at Cogges Farm in Witney then out to Charlbury Garden Centre for lunch. Coming home via Leafield, Finstock and East End. Not hilly.

Ride report

It was nice weather for our ride to Cogges Farm for coffee. We noticed they had Shetland ponies in the paddock by the outdoor seating area this time rather than the goats we have seen before. Our lunch was at Charlbury Garden Centre and they had plenty of food available this time. We last went there for lunch on a Sunday to find they had run out of anything more than cake despite opening the next day which was a Bank Holiday Monday. It wasn’t too far from lunch to get home although we did cycle very close to the biomass plant at Cassington which was to blow up in a lightning strike the next day.
The half-day coffee ride suffered a mishap – snapped chain. But we sorted it!
